New York's John Robinson has been on the seen for a minute without getting the props he deserves. Having worked not only with luminaries like MF Doom, Flying Lotus and as Lil Sci of Scienz of Life we feel his time is now! Joining him on stage is the phenomenal UK talent of Lowkey while upstairs DJ's MK & Harry Love bring their incredibly popular live streamed radio show the Funhouse out of the kitchen for it's first ever live show!
John Robinson is born where Hip-Hop began in the South Bronx and having made his name as Lil Sci, one half of Scinz Of Life he has recently gone on to work with the very hottest leftfield Hip-Hop producers in the game making phenomenal albums that will grow into much loved classics as time goes by. MF Doom. Flying Lotus, J-Rawls, IG Culture are producers that any MC would shed blood to share the studio with. John has blessed their tracks as only he can and is sure to be welcomed back to do so time and time again. While equal parts poet and politician his time blessing stages all over the world for near on a decade means that he is always ready to bring the party when performing live!
A good match to John's political party poetry is the phenomenal Lowkey. A member of the Poisonous Poets of mixed Arab / British decent he is a talented lyricist who has gone on to work with a huge array of artists including The Arctic Monkeys & Revend and The Makers as part of Indie / Hip-Hop supergroup Mongrel and Kool G Rap and Immortal Technique as part of Catch 22. Blessing stages anywhere from small clubs to Glastonbury there is nothing Lowkey about this man on stage and we are blessed to have him finally appear at The Doctor's Orders.
In The Funhouse DJ Mk and Harry Love created one of the most talked about things in Hip-Hop this summer. Recorded and streamed live from Harry's kitchen through http://www.ustream.tv/channel/thefunhouse an incredible 5 days a week it has already featured the great and good of the UK scene as well as some genuine US superstars like Wu Tang's Raekwon. The idea is simple enough; great music played by great DJs in a format you can access whenever you like so tonight we are bringing the Funhouse to Herbal for it's very first public outing. Not only will the boys be doing what they do best but if you are unfortunate enough not to be able to make it to the venue you can catch them online as they stream it live.
