ASSOCIATED MINDS x MUTTY WANGO PARTY X
HIGHER LEARNING
Proudly present…
For years Wales has secretly harbored one of the most vibrant, diverse and talented Hip-hop scenes on the planet. This is no small part due to three forward thinking crews based in the Welsh capital of Cardiff:
The Associated Minds label who have produced some of the strongest UK Hip-hop releases of the past few years; Higher Learning whose nights set many a Hip hop legend next to the latest cutting edge artists, and whose battles and open mic sessions have been the primary breeding ground for Welsh acts over the past 9 years; and Mutty Wango, who have consistently supported Welsh Hip-hop in their off the hook eclectic nights, bringing the artists to a whole new audience.
Now in an effort to regain the level of quality in Cardiff’s Hip-hop nights that the city deserves, all three have combined to bring you a killer line up of acts that prove that the lull in the UK Hip-hop scene has simply been a matter of shaking off the excess baggage and letting the real talent shine through. On the night will be.
KYZA
Undoubtedly the UK’s # 1 emcee of the moment, the legend that is KYZA SMIRNOFF, comes to Cardiff to party hard and celebrate the release of his new ‘Shots of Smirnoff’ album on Foreign Beggars’ Dented Records label.
DUBBLEDGE
One of the most consistent emcees in the game, with massive releases on Low Life Records and Dented Records imprint plus a whole bunch of guest spots. He’s also the man behind the hilariously sharp Lips 2 Da Floor.
BEATBOX FOZZY
One of the UK’s leading young beatboxers who has worked with the likes of Dizzee Rascal and Duran Duran. He’s always guaranteed to hype a crowd.
METABEATS (exclusive DJ set)
One of the UK’s finest new producers and a man of many names, faces and sounds, all of them worth looking out for. His last album Metaphysical was one of the best UK Hip-hop releases in years and had major support from a few BBC Radio 1 DJs.
CHROME KIDS
The digitally mutated bastard offspring of Hip-hop not only run one of the best blogs going for new bass heavy electronic beats, but rip up parties in the real world too. They’ve also hosted both a show and a mix on BBC Radio1.
Such an all-star line up is gonna leave it road block so reach early.
