'Edutainment is a one hour show of me playing new and old Hip Hop, UK, US and beyond and also some original breaks or whatever I feel like spinning from all genres. 'Naughty Angels' RabodigaRabodiga was born in 1983, in Zaragoza, Spain, where she lived until she was 18. She then moved to study Fine Arts at the university of Valencia. Currently based in London, Rabodiga combines illustration, traditional painting and graffiti with her studies of photography, painting girls who represent her alter ego, through which she communicates a deep hidden world to the outside, trying to turn what she perceives into something more beautiful than the world we are surrounded by.
I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of her amazing work from 'The Sky's The Limit' exhibition at gallery118. The event is running till the 31st of July showcasing the latest works from 3 great artist; TOM BLACKFORD, BONZAI & RABODIGA. Id advise anyone to get down to gallery118 and witness these great pieces in the flesh!

THE IRS are a five strong crew from South London consisting of ED STRONG (Producer/MC), RANDOM DEVIATION (MC), KING KAIOW (MC), SUPERB (MC) and DJ GUIDE ONE.
The crew provides a mixture of lyrical flare, bass heavy beats, intelligent and original subject matter and cocksure charisma. A thought provoking variety of topics including general laziness, addiction, bitterness, city life, hard times and the love of money are made light work by the witty wordplay of Ed Strong and King Kaiow. The CD is quality throughout, with the type of classic Hip Hop production that appeals to me. Most of the production is by Ed Strong, but he is well backed up with offerings from Chemo, Complex and I.Am.Ill. The choices of the samples for the loops are flavoursome and obviously make it easy for the MCs to get live over. With cuts by DJ Guide One this CD contains all the pre-requisite requirements to make people stand up and take notice.

Legendary rapper Chester P has released an album and a slew of mixtapes over the past few years. His album titled ‘From the Ashes’ shows rhyming at its rawest, with flawless multis and flowing street verse. Mixed with his inimitable philosophy and spectacular wordplay he weaves a tapestry of London life, its perils and dreams, disasters and diatribes. Features from fellow TaskForce veteran Farma G, Ransom Badbones and some truly new and brilliant UK beats produced by Louis Slipperz. Stand out track for me was ‘Fly Away’ where beats and flows peak in his genius rhythm. This marked a move toward Chester’s solo rap output and was followed the next year by his ‘New Mic Order – Mixtape Part 1’, making the listener remember, or research, it’s startling and unique original.
This time round Farma G helped produce and utilise underground and classic US hip hop beats to underlie Chester’s lyrical prowess, charging over tracks with invention, ideas and real genuine rap character; ‘Urban Jackanory’ among ‘F.M.H’ and ‘The greatest story never told’ are highlights in an hour of balanced and varied moods that explore the depths of his talents.

JON PHONICS 'HALF PAST CALM'
Jon Phonics will already be known to a lot of you out there and in fact, some of you will know his sound without even having heard his name before, as he was part of the brains behind Verb T’s smash album “Verbs With a Vengeance”. Now he brings together a whole heap of beats featuring some of the best UK emcees on the mic at the moment, in the form of his compilation, 'Half Past Calm'.
There are a number of tracks on here with members of the Triple Darkness crew, Cyrus Malachi and M9ine, who can’t seem to put a foot wrong at the moment . Old favourites Sir Smurf Lil’ and Verb T are featured on a few tunes, as well as Mr Drastick who is definitely worth a look in at the moment.
